Animal Medical Center: Wellness Care for Your Pet

March 31, 2017

At Animal Medical Center, our Midlothian veterinarian and team are committed to providing your pet with the highest standard of care.

Our 24-hour vet in Midlothian is available for all your pet's health and wellness needs, whether it be a routine exam or a medical emergency.

The Importance of Wellness Care for Your Pet

All too often, well-meaning pet owners make the mistake of only bringing their pets into a veterinarian's office when they're sick or injured. And while it's important to bring your pet to a vet when they're in need of specialized medical care, the fact remains that preventative and wellness care can be just as important in a number of ways. By making sure your pets are seeing a vet for routine exams at least once a year, you can protect your pet's health and wellness and make sure they have the necessary vaccinations and immunizations to avoid disease and illness.

Wellness Services Offered at Our Animal Hospital

We offer a wide range of wellness services here at our animal hospital, including comprehensive wellness exams to stay on top of changes in your pet's health. We typically recommend these at least once a year for most pets, though twice-annual exams may be recommended for older pets or pets with existing health problems. In addition to our routine exams, we offer immunization and vaccination services. As part of your pet's exam, we can also make recommendations when it comes to your pet's nutrition/dietary needs, as well as changes in your pet's lifestyle that could improve his or her health.
