Dr. Blake Spiers was born and raised in Studley, a tiny rural community within Hanover County.

A lifelong attraction to the human-animal bond along with a particularly meaningful relationship with his first personal pet, a chinchilla named Darry, turned into a dream to foster and nurture that bond as a veterinarian.

Dr. Blake spent 10 years in Blacksburg completing his bachelor’s degree in biology at Virginia Tech and his veterinary degree at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Along with his passion for veterinary medicine, he honed a passion for general customer service and satisfaction while serving as a manager at multiple food service locations (don’t get him started on his dedication to Jersey Mike’s).

When he isn’t spending time with his Llewellin setter, Wrigley, his chinchilla, Bubba, and his two bonded kitties, Leland & Goose, he loves to play guitar, go to concerts, and play video games. His primary veterinary interests include wellness care, surgery, pain management, and physical rehabilitation. Dr. Blake is beyond excited to return to the Richmond area to serve the metro community he’s always loved.
